James's practice focuses on complex patent infringement litigation in federal courts and before the U.S. International Trade Commission. James also represents his clients on antitrust counseling and in litigation. He advises emerging and established technology companies on issues related to the development, evaluation, and licensing of intellectual property. Before joining TechKnowledge Law Group LLP, James was a partner at Freitas Tseng & Kaufman LLP. Prior to that, James was associated with Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP.

James represents Acer in numerous patent infringement disputes in the U.S. For example, James represented Acer in a number of patent infringement disputes with Hewlett-Packard Company and Tessera before the U.S. International Trade Commission and the Eastern District of Texas. James further represented Acer in patent infringement actions brought by WiLAN and CSIRO in the Eastern District of Texas.
Nanya Technology Corporation. James represents this leading semiconductor company in numerous patent infringement disputes in the U.S. Past representations include patent infringement actions against Rambus, Inc. and Tessera, Inc.
Powerchip Semiconductor Corp. James represented Powerchip in a patent infringement dispute with Tessera, Inc. before the U.S. International Trade Commission.
Siliconware Precision Industries Co. Ltd. James represented Siliconware in patent and licensing disputes brought by Tessera, Inc. before the ITC and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
Ralink Technology Corporation. James represented Ralink in multiple patent litigation and licensing issues, including Ralink's patent disputes with PACid, CSIRO, and WiLAN.
Intel Corporation. James represented Intel in a patent infringement action in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas brought by Fast Memory Erase LLC.
